Colleen Finney

Reporter

Colleen joined FOX 56 News in October 2021 as the 7-9 a.m. morning producer. She is excited to delete her 3 a.m. alarm as of June 2022 to produce and report for our newly added 7 p.m. show.

Before Colleen came to FOX 56, she was proud to be a Wildcat at the University of Kentucky.

During her time there she interned with Lexington Emergency Management, reported and anchored for the University of Kentucky Student News Network, and ran replay at sporting events with the SEC Network. Upon graduating during the middle of a pandemic, Colleen knew she wasn’t ready to leave the Bluegrass State just yet and was excited to start her first “big girl” job in the city she fell in love with.

When Colleen isn’t working you can find her writing, advocating for mental health or enjoying mint chocolate chip ice cream. She wrote almost 100 blog posts for ‘The Odyssey Online’ during her time at UK and recently became a published author in Spring of 2022 with her mental health book called, “All It Takes Is One: the friend you never knew you needed.”

Colleen is proud to call Lexington her second home (behind the Buckeye state) and can’t wait to continue to explore this beautiful state and the people and stories that make it whole.

If you have a story idea, email her at cfinney@fox56news.com or pop over to her social media accounts @colleenfinneytv to say hi!
