LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Crime Stoppers is asking for your help identifying a man who stole from a woman while she worked overnight.
The female victim is a member of the overnight cleaning crew at a business on East New Circle Road in Lexington. Police say she parked her car right outside the back door on Sept. 7, where she could have easy access to the building late at night, but when she returned from her shift, she found her car broken into.
The business owners rolled back the surveillance video and found the crime happened around 4 in the morning. Her purse and everything in it was gone.
“She had $1,000 worth of valuables in there, including her wedding ring,” said Det. Anthony Delimpo of the Lexington Police Department and Crime Stoppers coordinator. “She’s got all her credit cards gone, social security, all of her valuable identifying information. So there was a lot of stress of what’s going to happen to my identity.”
The thief rode to and from the scene on a bike. If you recognize him or know of someone who recently came in possession of a wedding ring they’re trying to sell, call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 859-253-2020.
