LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Lexington’s 16th homicide of the year took the life of a 28-year-old father.
Information came in quickly in the investigation, but detectives are still looking for that one piece that pulls this case together.
Shon Davis’ family said an anonymous tip would be the Christmas miracle they’ve been waiting for.
Shon Davis, Sr. said prayer and a positive mentality have helped him move from anger to sadness to a freeing feeling of forgiveness.
“It’s a hard thing, every day. I just take it one day at a time,” Davis said.
It was on June 8 that his 28-year-old son bearing the same name, was murdered sitting in his car in 200 Hedgewood Court in the Woodhill neighborhood.
“Shon didn’t even see it coming, Davis said. “He got shot in the back of his head. They didn’t even do it to his face. They did it cowardly, execution style in the back of his head.”
A tough thing to explain to Shon’s 10-year-old son and proudest achievement.
Lexington Police are still looking for one piece that pulls all of their investigative progress together. They’re asking someone to do it for this family, for a child who needs it to move forward.
“Not only are we offering a large amount of cash, but you remain completely anonymous,” said Detective Anthony Delimpo. “I don’t know who you are, where you’re from. I don’t know anything about you.”
