LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – A Lexington woman expecting a unique package came home to find it missing. A check of her doorbell camera showed it was snatched by a man who found his way into her apartment complex.

“I think he followed a truck,” said Crime Stoppers Coordinator Detective Anthony Delimpo. “The package hadn’t been there very long. It had been delivered just recently. So he was following a truck and looking for something exciting to steal. He’s probably done it many times before.”

Even so, he was careful. Taking his time to make sure no one was around. “The video is pretty clear. Shows the gentleman walk inside. He knocks on several doors to see if anybody answers,” said Delimpo. “I think he was playing the game of saying if somebody answers I’ll just say hi, you have a package delivered.”

MORE CRIME STOPPERS:

That day, no one heard the man’s knocking in the 2900 block of Wintergarden Drive. So, after thinking about whether or not he was going to commit this crime, he wanders off with a package containing a porcelain doll that does not belong to him.

“I think it was definitely sentimental. Something the victim ordered that they wanted to have and a porcelain doll is something unique and specific and they don’t have it anymore,” Delimpo said. “We don’t have any idea who it was.”

If you recognize the man in the video, Crime Stoppers has recently increased the reward money they’re paying out to anonymous tipsters. You can report the information by calling the tip line at 253-2020 or by going online to p3tips.com.
