LEXINGTON Ky. (FOX 56) — A 21-year-old man became the 44th murder victim in Lexington just two days before the start of the new year. Two others suffered gunshot wounds, and no arrests have been made.

“Everybody wants to devote as much time as they can to each case because victims deserve that,” said Det. Kristyn Klingshirn.

But time is not on the side of Lexington detectives. With 44 homicides to investigate in 2022 alone, they’re leaning on the community to provide some help.

“It’s very sad that you have the start of the new year, and they’re basically kids,” Det. Klingshirn said. “There’s really nothing that can justify what occurred.”

Police got to the scene on Bradley Court just after 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2022. Several people were gathered around a car riddled with bullets, but no one was able to share information about the shooter.

Tyron Shaw, 21, died at the scene, a 19-year-old man was critically hurt, and a third man was grazed by a bullet.
