NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) – A couple of businesses on a stretch of Lexington Road in Nicholasville were looking out for each other the morning a couple of guys up to no good drove up to their strip mall.
“Nobody likes a criminal, but nobody likes a thief in particular,” said Crime Stoppers coordinator Det. Anthony Delimpo.
This week, we’re asking for your help identifying two crooks who came into The Castle acting the part of some curious customers.
“We had two guys come into the store. It was pretty clear they were together. They stayed in here for a full hour, talking to employees, pointing things out,” said Delimpo.
But, there was an ulterior motive for that friendly chit-chat. They were scoping the place out, waiting for the right time to pounce on some pricey jewelry. And, when an employee went to help another customer, one of the men helped himself to a couple of gold chains hanging behind the display.
“These are owned locally by an individual and these were costly. It’s several $1,000. The owner has insurance, but ultimately they’re going to have to eat the cost of that. And it hurts small businesses,” said Delimpo.
If you recognize either of the men or the white BMW sedan they were driving, call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 253-2020 or go online to p3tips.com. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for your anonymous information.
