ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police have released new information about the deadly crash on I-75 on Tuesday.
According to KSP, 81-year-old John E. Johnson of Rutledge, Tennessee, was traveling northbound on I-75 when he lost control of his vehicle and veered into the path of a 2000 Freightliner Semi.

Shirlee R. Johnson, 78, was Johnson’s passenger. She suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr. Johnson was taken to Rockcastle Regional Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A semi and car crashed at mile marker 59, according to Kentucky State Police Trooper Scottie Pennington.
The highway was shut down for a few hours as accident reconstruction investigated.
It’s unclear if wet roads caused the accident, but Pennington said it was raining heavily.
