LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — South Laurel Middle School and South Laurel High School were both temporarily closed on Thursday after a potential bomb threat was reported.

According to the London Police Department, Kentucky State Police bomb detection K-9s searched both schools and determined there was no bomb threat, and around 10 a.m. an all-clear status was issued.

Just before 9 a.m. on Thursday, the schools were closed out of an abundance of caution to investigate the legitimacy of the threat.

Authorities said a minor has been taken into custody in reference to the threat, and charges are pending.
