WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – While out for a hike, a family wound up stranded on a trail in the Red River Gorge.
According to Wolfe County Search and Rescue officials, a fallen tree destroyed a suspension bridge on the Sheltowee Trace Trail on Saturday.

Search and rescue officials confirmed the family headed back south to exit the trail elsewhere.
The U.S. Forest Service for the Daniel Boone National Forest is expected to have a major construction project on its hands and officials said the bridge isn’t expected to be reopened any time soon.
