RAVENNA, Ky. (FOX 56) – Kentucky State Police is investigating a shooting that left one injured Sunday night in Estill County.

KSP said it responded around 9 p.m. to a shooting at a home on Furnace Junction Road in Ravenna. Police determined David Moreland, 64, and Jesse A. Wise, 59, were in a “physical altercation” when Wise shot Moreland.

Moreland was taken to Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine and later airlifted to UK Hospital in critical condition, according to KSP.

Wise was arrested and booked into the Three Forks Regional Jail on first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence charges.

The shooting remains under investigation.
