LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — On June 11, Aspen Dental locations across the U.S. will be participating in their “Day of Service”.
The event, now in its eighth year, provides dental care at no cost for military veterans and their families to honor their service.
During Aspen Dental’s Day of Service, the providers will focus on taking care of veterans and their families’ most urgent dental needs. This includes relieving them of any dental discomfort, extractions and fillings, and denture maintenance.

“Each individual practice makes the decision who in the office is going to volunteer, and the response every year is overwhelming. Seeing the gratitude on their faces makes it worth it. What we’re doing in one day doesn’t even compare to what they’ve done in their career and in their service,” said Aspen Dental practice owner Whitney Deitz.
Over the last eight years, more than 30 thousand veterans have received more than $23 million worth of dental care through the day of service.
“It means a lot to me. You know, I’ve had rotten teeth so long, and I couldn’t afford to have none of this done. You know, it does mean a lot to me,” said U.S. Navy veteran Kenny Jary.
This year, Aspen locations in 11 Kentucky cities will be participating in the event. Those locations include:
- Ashland
- Danville
- Frankfort
- Lexington
- Louisville (Dixie Hwy)
- Louisville (Outer Loop)
- Owensboro
- Paducah
- Pikeville
- Richmond
- Somerset
Appointments are required in order to participate in the event. Call 1-844-277-3646 (1-844-ASPENHMM) in advance of June 11 to find a participating office in your community and schedule an appointment.
According to Aspen, veterans are not eligible for dental benefits through the Veterans Administration unless they’re 100% disabled, were a prisoner of war, or have a mouth injury due to military service. This is their reasoning for providing a day for any veterans to get the care they require.
