LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — If you are feeling the summer heat and need financial assistance with cooling bills, a federally funded Kentucky program may be the answer.

According to Jackson Energy, Kentucky LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) has launched its Summer Cooling Subsidy and Crisis Program to help subsidize high cooling costs.

The program is scheduled to run through September 30 or until funds are depleted.

According to LIHEAP, their assistance is on a first-come-first-served basis.
