OWENSBORO, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 100-year-old Kentucky BBQ spot made Southern Living’s top 50 BBQ restaurants for 2023.

Owensboro’s Old Hickory has been serving BBQ since 1918 and has been run by six different generations of the Foreman family.

Their specialty is BBQ mutton, but they also serve pork, chicken, beef, and turkey using hickory coals in their cinderblock pit.

Southern Living highlighted Old Hickory’s thin Worcestershire dip, and the long, tender strands of smoked mutton are chewy, smoky, and sublimely delicious.
