KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – A Knox County man was arrested after a woman sustained serious injuries.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said they were contacted on Saturday about a woman being thrown from a moving vehicle on Kentucky 225 in Artemus. Deputies said they found the woman lying in the roadway with a serious head injury, and she was taken to Barbourville ARH and later to UK Medical Center in Lexington.

The woman told authorities her boyfriend, Brandon Murphy, pushed her out of the vehicle while they were traveling at 35 to 40 mph.
Murphy, 34, was later located at his home on Kentucky 225 in Artemus. He was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, menacing, and resisting arrest.
He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. Court documents show he is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. Murphy is scheduled to appear in court on March 21.
