DRY RIDGE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 14-month-old in Harrison County.

According to a release by KSP, Harrison County first responders were dispatched around 12 a.m. Tuesday to 166 Horseshoe Dr. for reports of an unresponsive child. The child was transported to Harrison County Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

KSP detectives were called to the scene to conduct an investigation and ended up locating narcotics within the residence.

The mother of the child, 22-year-old Bailee Thornsbury, was charged with first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance (opiates), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree wanton endangerment.

Authorities said more charges could follow pending the coroner’s report.

The incident is under active investigation by Kentucky State Police.
