SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (FOX 56) – Trooper Daniel Mann stopped a 1997 GMC pickup truck for a routine traffic violation on Jan. 4, 2022 at 11:10 a.m.

When Mann interacted with the driver, Jair Cruz, 24 of Murfeesboro, Tenn. he found Cruz did not have a valid driver’s license. Mann observed that Cruz appeared to be very nervous.

Trooper James Ford arrived to assist with the situation. Cruz gave both of the troopers permission to search the vehicle. Mann and Ford found over 23 pounds of packaged marijuana. Mann and Ford proceeded to arrest Cruz.

Cruz was charged with speeding 15 mph over the legal speed limit, driving without a license, and marijuana trafficking greater than 5 pounds.

Cruz was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.
