LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — It’s Honey Bun Week in London. The town is home to Flowers Bakery, the nation’s largest producer of honey buns.

The shop turns out nearly three million pounds of honey buns and other delicious sweets a week.

Many businesses are participating in Honey Bun Week, with a big celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place at the London-Laurel County Farmers Market and the adjacent London Community Center at 529 South Main Street.

Festivities will include a cooking challenge and an attempt to break the world record for most honey buns eaten simultaneously. Participants in the world record attempt will be entered to win a prize valued at $1,000.
