CARLISLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — The boil water advisory for Carlisle has been lifted as of October 18.

The entire city of Carlisle is under a boil water advisory until further notice.

On Monday afternoon, the City of Carlisle announced that it experienced a major water main break. Nicholas County Schools closed Monday due to the issue.

The water leak has been repaired, but all city customers are under a boil water advisory until further notice.

Customers could have discolored water and air in the lines until crews can pump and flush water lines.
