LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A memorial wall was dedicated on Monday to honor two fallen London Police Department officers.

The memorial wall honors Lieutenant Travis Hurley and Sargent Logan Medlock, who died in 2022. Hurley lost his battle against COVID in January, and Medlock was killed by a suspected drunken driver in October.

The memorial wall was incorporated in the squad room inside the London Police Department and features photos of the officers along with their “End of Watch” dates.

“This wall will be permanently a part of the London Police Department,” Chief Chuck Johnson said during Monday’s dedication service. “This will be a daily reminder for the officers, the first thing they see when they get here and the last thing they see when they leave.”

The department said the memorial wall is both a way to honor the sacrifice the officers made for their community as well as a way for fellow officers to grieve their loss.
