IRVINE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Eugene “Rick” French Jr. was found dead in Estill County.

According to Kentucky State Police, they received a call regarding a man who was found dead on an ATV path on Bicknell Branch Road.

At the scene, troopers said French was found dead near his residence. The cause of the death is under investigation, and foul play is not suspected.

A Golden Alert was issued for Eugene “Rick” French Jr., 69, of Irvine after he was last seen just before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.


According to KSP, French suffers from dementia and was last seen in the Bicknell Ranch Road area. French stands 6 feet tall and weighs around 175 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He has an “EF” tattoo on one of his arms.

He is believed to have left his home on foot wearing a black hoodie and dark blue work pants.

KSP said French may be en route to Hamilton, Ohio.
