BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Four-time NBA Champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry is stepping into the spirit industry with his own brand of Kentucky-made bourbon.

Gentleman’s Cut Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey launches on Wednesday at the Boone County Distilling Co. following the inaugural bottling, and will be available worldwide.

The name Gentleman’s Cut was formulated based on Curry’s demeanor on and off the court, as well as the idea of distilling a fine spirit that pairs well with celebrations.

“Celebrations take on many different forms, from intimate gatherings to major milestones, and at the center of each memorable moment is a spirit rooted in history and tradition,” said Curry. “I’m proud to have helped carefully craft a new signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Gentleman’s Cut. This rich, complex, and bold bourbon is the perfect offering to commemorate life’s great occasions, and will be part of a raised-glass toasting moment in the lives of my fans, friends, and family.”

Curry himself was involved in the manufacturing, blending, aging, packaging, and marketing efforts of the new bourbon. It was that effort that John Schwartz, owner of Amuse Bouche Winery in Napa Valley and Curry’s partner, said led to a high-quality bourbon being produced.

“In close collaboration with Stephen, we produced a high-quality aged bourbon offered at a great value that will resonate with bourbon connoisseurs and help grow the craft bourbon category to our global audience,” said Schwartz.

Gentleman’s Cut is distilled in 500-gallon copper pot stills in Boone County, and aged for five to seven years in charred new white oak barrels. This process results in notes of cinnamon, seared caramel, and sweet toasted chestnut.

The retail price for Gentleman’s Cut is $79.99 per 750-ml bottle.
