MAYFIELD, Ky. (FOX 56) – Carr’s Steakhouse, located in Mayfield, is among the many buildings in the city destroyed by the Dec. 10 tornadoes that ravished the area.
As owners and staff sifted through the rubble where the popular restaurant once stood, they came across 14 bottles of highly sought-after Kentucky bourbon that sat on their shelves.
With funding being the most critical need for rebuilding in the area, Carr’s saw the opportunity to raise money by auctioning off the rare bourbons.
The bottles being auctioned on The Kentucky Bourbon Benefit website are as follows:

- Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series
- Duke Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
- Ingram River Aged Flagship Bourbon
- Knob Creek 15-year
- Maker’s Mark
- Maker’s Mark 75th Anniversary Keeneland edition (2011)
- Russell’s Reserve 10-year (two)
- Russell’s Reserve 10-year signed by Master Distiller Jimmy Russell (2004)
- W.B. Saffell (produced by Wild Turkey)
- Woodford Reserve 135th Kentucky Derby commemorative (2009)
Many of the brands represented will be matching the auction price up to $10,000.

The silent auction is underway and will close at 10 p.m. EST today, Dec. 21. A live auction of the top 15 items will go from 7-8:30 p.m. at kybourbonbenefit.com.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund.
