LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – America’s history tells a story of different people from different backgrounds with different beliefs all coming together to live as one nation.

As Hispanic Heritage Month begins on Sept. 15 and continues through Oct. 15, Wallet Hub identified the most and least diverse states in the U.S. across six primary categories:

  • Socio-economic
  • Cultural
  • Economic
  • Household
  • Religious
  • Political

Kentucky found itself near the end of Wallet Hub’s diversity index, ranked as the sixth least diverse state in America.

According to Wallet Hub’s study, Kentucky ranked 46th in socio-economic and cultural diversities, 29th in economic diversity, 16th in household diversity, 23rd in religious diversity, and 34th in political diversity.

From 2009 to 2020, Kentucky’s diversity rank remained primarily unchanged, one of the few states to remain stagnant.
