VERSAILLES, Ky. (FOX 56) — One of Woodford Reserve’s “most-coveted” bourbons has hit the shelves once again.

The distillery’s Double Double Oaked variety, became available at Woodford Reserve Distillery beginning at 10 a.m. on Jan. 18 as a part of its annual Distillery Series release.

“We are excited to once again offer one of our most-coveted annual bourbon releases,” said Master Distiller Chris Morris. “This is the perfect winter bourbon with tasting notes of burned marshmallows, cranberry, and bittersweet chocolate.”

Double Double Oaked is highly sought after by bourbon enthusiasts due to the nature of its maturing process. The variety is created by finishing fully mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional year in a heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel, which implements a spicier taste than its counterpart.

If you missed out on the initial release of the Double Double Oaked at Woodford Reserve on Wednesday, the distiller has made it available in limited quantities at select Kentucky retailers.

Double Double Oaked comes in at 90.4 proof and has a suggested retail price of $59.99 for a 375 ml bottle.
