LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington structure fire Saturday afternoon left two people in critical condition.
According to Maj. Derek Roberts, fire crews were dispatched to Malabu Drive at 3:36 p.m. after receiving reports of a structure fire. Heavy black smoke was seen billowing from one apartment.

Two individuals were inside the apartment at the time.
Roberts told FOX 56 that the fire was contained to one apartment, which sustained heavy damage.
The two individuals were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries, according to Battalion Chief Adam Sorrell.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
