LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man is in custody after a man died around 12:30 a.m. Friday in downtown Lexington.

The Lexington Police Department said Jamierion Allen, 19, has been arrested in connection with the death of 21-year-old Clinton Burnette Brown.

According to a news release, after Allen was identified as a suspect investigators obtained an arrest warrant and worked with Kentucky State Police to arrest him.

Allen has been charged with murder and is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

One man is dead after a shooting overnight near downtown Lexington.

Police said the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Jersey Street and South Limestone.

The victim, identified by the Fayette County coroner as 21-year-old Clinton Burnette Brown of Versailles, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Authorities believe an earlier disorder may have led to the shooting. No suspects have been named, but police said they are working to identify everyone involved.
