LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Fayette County Coroner’s Officer is investigating the death of a 46-year-old Lexington woman.

According to the coroner’s office, Jessica Elaine Patterson was an occupant of a vehicle that left the roadway at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Garden Grove Walk. The vehicle hit a tree before coming to rest on its side.

She was declared dead at 3:10 a.m. at the scene by the coroner’s office.

The Lexington Police Department Collision Reconstruction Unit is working with the coroner’s office to get a clearer picture of what caused the accident.

The exact cause of Patterson’s death is unknown as autopsy results are still pending.
