LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man is dead Friday after an officer-involved shooting in Anderson County.

Kentucky State Police said a man was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to the injuries from a shooting. Police said the event happened around 2 p.m.

Police told FOX 56 they were unable to confirm if the man had a warrant or charges, or if a car chase had been initiated before the incident.


Lawrenceburg and Anderson County 911 announced around 2 p.m. on Facebook, that Highway 127 at Bluegrass Parkway was shut down in both directions due to an emergency situation. At 3:45 p.m., they updated that the northbound road was opened and the southbound road was converted into one lane.

The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is continuing to investigate the shooting.
