LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Lexington Police Department, with the aid of Kentucky State Police, the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office, KYOAG SAKI Taskforce, have made an arrest in relation to three cold case abduction and sexual assaults.

According to Lexington police, officers were dispatched to investigate three different sexual assault reports from 2009 to 2016. In each case, the females were reportedly abducted before being sexually assaulted.

Through the utilization of DNA technology, detectives were able to identify the suspect and connect the three alleged assaults and abductions.

On Friday, George Wayne Aldridge, 52, was taken into custody in connection to the cases and charged with:

  • Three counts of kidnapping
  • Two counts of first-degree rape
  • Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse
  • Two counts of first-degree sodomy
  • One count of first-degree wanton endangerment.

He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
