NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) —A baby has died after a car caught fire on Wednesday in Nicholasville.

According to Nicholasville Police, witnesses told authorities they saw a man, who appeared to be burned, running on Eagle Nest Drive and yelling that a child was in a vehicle that was on fire.

On Wednesday morning, schools in the area were placed on a soft lockdown while authorities located the man as a precaution.

Nicholasville Police said he was later found at an area hospital, and the lockdowns were lifted.

The Jessamine County Coroner’s Office confirmed the name of the 4-month-old child was Brylee Mae Gill.

By Friday, a makeshift memorial was taking shape at the scene in memory of Gill.
