LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Hosting the Budweiser Clydesdales is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — unless you’re the Chevy Chase Inn.

The Clydesdales will pay a visit to the Lexington staple on May 31 to kick off the bar’s 90th-anniversary celebration.

Unlike usual Chevy Chase Inn events, the 90th-anniversary celebration isn’t restricted to those 21 and up. CCI welcomes all ages to the festivities, which begin at 5 p.m. For the event, the 800 block of Euclid Avenue (from South Ashland to High Street) will be closed.

The Budweiser Clydesdales visit Chevy Chase Inn in April 1959 (Chevy Chase Inn).

The Clydesdales haven’t paraded down Euclid Avenue in over 60 years. It was 1959 when Budweiser made its last Chevy Chase appearance to show its appreciation for CCI’s beer-selling success.

Once again, they’ll stop in front of CCI to allow the community to commemorate this special day with a photo with the Clydesdales!
