LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WDKY) – Police are investigating after a body was found in a lake Sunday afternoon in Laurel County.

Kentucky State Police say around 12:30 p.m. someone who was fishing noticed the body and called police.

The Laurel County coroner confirms that the body was found in the Marsh Branch of Laurel River Lake, off Highway 192 west of London.

He says the victim is Andrew Ku, 21, of New York.

Detectives are handling it as a death investigation at this time.

Back in 2012, Clarence Holmes, went missing in the same area of Laurel Lake. Several coordinated search efforts have been held in the area for Holmes.

His father told WDKY  he rushed to the scene after hearing about Sunday’s discovery. He says at this point, investigators do not believe the investigation is related to his missing son.
