MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – Documents released by the Madison County District Court reveal previously unknown details regarding the home invasion murder of former Kentucky Rep. Wesley Jordan’s daughter, Jordan Morgan.

Documents indicate the suspect, 23-year-old Shannon Gilday, shot his way into Morgan’s home at 4 a.m. on Feb. 22 armed with an assault rifle.

Gilday made his way into an upstairs bedroom where Jordan was sleeping, entered, and shot and killed her by firing multiple rounds.

Court documents said Gilday then made his way downstairs to the master bedroom where Wesley Morgan, his wife, and young daughter were located.

Wesley and Gilday then exchanged gunfire with each other before Gilday fled the property.

Kentucky State Police indicated that as they searched for Gilday for the following days, troopers were under the impression that Gilday had fled the area.

Documents indicate that Gilday was arrested on exit 87 of I-75, approximately two miles from both the Morgan family home and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

Gilday’s bond has been set at $2 million and his arrangement will be at 9 a.m. on March 2.
