LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington Police have made an arrest in the fatal September shooting on South Broadway case.

According to the police, Jacolby Williams was arrested on Oct. 19 in Phoenix, Arizona, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Service, numerous police agencies, and a tip sent to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.

In September, 18-year-old Dametrius Hampton was shot and killed outside of the Cook Out fast food restaurant. Williams was later identified as a person of interest and asked to turn himself in to the police.


Williams was charged with:

  • Murder
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

He is currently in the Maricopa County Jail awaiting transport to the Fayette County Detention Center.
