JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Thursday to a residence in Junction City to investigate a reported stabbing.
Deputies said they found a man lying on the floor at a residence on Kentucky Avenue with multiple stab wounds. Authorities were able to detain Travis Layport, 31, of Danville, who was still at the scene.
During their investigation, deputies said the two men were in an altercation prior to the stabbing. Layport reportedly removed his belt and tried to strike the other man and also managed to hit a female on her leg, leaving a laceration.
Deputies said Layport grabbed a knife from the kitchen and reportedly stabbed the man three times, once in the face and twice in the back.

The stabbing victim was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment and was later transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Layport was booked into the Boyle County Detention Center and charged with:
- First-degree assault
- Fourth-degree assault
The incident is still under investigation, and authorities said more charges are possible.
