JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Boyle County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched Thursday to a residence in Junction City to investigate a reported stabbing.

Deputies said Layport grabbed a knife from the kitchen and reportedly stabbed the man three times, once in the face and twice in the back.

The stabbing victim was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment and was later transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital.

Layport was booked into the Boyle County Detention Center and charged with:

  • First-degree assault
  • Fourth-degree assault

The incident is still under investigation, and authorities said more charges are possible.
