LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Flavien Prat has been suspended three days for his role in his horse, Foreign Relations, being disqualified from a race at Keeneland on Wednesday.

According to Daily Racing Form, Prat caused Foreign Relations to sharply swerve in front of Master of the Ring, who was ridden by jockey Tyler Gaffalione. Gaffalione was thrown from his mount after Master of the Ring clipped heels and fell awkwardly to the turf.

Gaffalione avoided serious injury but Master of the Ring had to be euthanized after suffering a subluxated right carpus, according to DRF.

On Thursday, Keeneland stewards cited Prat for careless riding and he is serving his three-day suspension from April 26-28.

Prat’s agent, Brad Pegram, confirmed the suspension will not be appealed.
