LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A school resource officer is continuing to recover Friday after a near-fatal car accident last week.

Leaders with Fayette County Public Schools said Officer Anthony Daulton was on his way to work when it happened.

He suffered significant injuries to his chest and face, which will require extensive surgery to repair.

Needless to say, he won’t be going back to work any time soon. With that in mind, friends and family have organized a GoFundMe page to help cover his medical bills and support his wife and three children as he recovers.

As of Friday, GoFundMe has raised just under $5,000 thanks to 66 donors. To donate, visit the GoFundMe page for Daulton.
