LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – StreetFest is coming to Lexington!
The Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will host its first-ever StreetFest from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 14.
StreetFest is a part of Bike Month in Lexington.
Oliver Lewis Way between West High Street and South Broadway will be closed to traffic during the event to allow people to bike, scoot, skate, jog, skip, or walk freely on the mile-long car-free loop.
StreetFest will also feature a giant bounce house, giant bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops, and more.
Here is a list of scheduled activities and their start times:
- 1:30 p.m. High Fitness led by High Street YMCA instructor Jamie
- 2:00 p.m. Hula hoop contest
- 2:30 p.m. Slow bike race
- 3:00 p.m. Yoga class led by High Street YMCA instructor Chrystal
- 3:50 p.m. wrap-up procession led by March Madness Marching Band
Refreshments will be available for purchase from Cotton and Cone, Eddie’s Roasted Corn, Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co., Nathan’s Taqueria, Sav’s Chill, and West Sixth Brewing.
Street parking will be limited, including on DeRoode and Merino streets. The Lex’s Spring Street overflow lot and the Artworks at the Carver School lot will be available for parking. UK’s Cornerstone Garage on South Limestone is free and open to the public from 7 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Dogs are welcome but must be on a retractable leash.
