LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The total funds raised during Tuesday night’s Kentucky Rising concert are in, and the event proved to be a great success for eastern Kentucky flood relief.
Rupp Arena’s sold-out event featuring Kentucky natives Chris Stapleton, Dwight Yoakam, and Tyler Childers raised over $2.5 million for ongoing flood relief in the eastern portion of the state.
Special surprise guests who also took the stage during the event included Patty Loveless, Ricky Skaggs, S.G. Goodman, and University of Kentucky Football Coach Mark Stoops.
The money raised will go toward the Kentucky Rising Fund, which works closely with the Blue Grass Community Foundation to support immediate, and long-term projects underway for eastern Kentucky communities.
