LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The release of “Cocaine Bear” is just around the corner, and the Kentucky Theatre has something special planned to heighten the viewing experience.
On release day, Feb. 24, and Feb. 25, not only can you go to the theatre to watch the movie but meet the bear who inspired it all.
After passing through many hands, Kentucky for Kentucky obtained the taxidermy of the actual bear who, in 1985, consumed 40 kilos of cocaine lost during a drug smuggling operation. Now, the bear’s owners will have him on display in the lobby of the Kentucky Theatre venue for two days only.
