MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – Sgt. Purdy with Kentucky State Police told FOX 56 a woman who was living part-time in the home has died as a result of the shooting at 1266 Willis Branch Road in Richmond.

The Madison County Property Valuation Administrator’s Office website lists Clinton and Lindsey Morgan as the owners of the house on Willis Branch Road.

According to Voterly, Clinton Wesley Morgan is a former member of the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Police said another individual in the home was also shot during the incident and taken to UK hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

C. Wesley Morgan confirmed with the Lexington Herald-Leader that the female victim was his 32-year-old daughter and that he and his wife were injured.

Authorities said the shooting was a result of a home invasion, and several members of the family were asleep within the home at the time.

KSP has confirmed with FOX 56 that this is an investigation into a shooting that occurred early this morning at the residence.

KSP investigators on the scene are asking individuals if they saw any suspicious activity between 4 and 4:30 a.m.
