LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the Hedgewood Court shooting victim as a 33-year-old male, Edward Studvent.

Studvent succumbed to his gunshot injuries at 7:46 p.m. Sunday in the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

The manner of death was identified as a homicide. A suspect has not been named at this time, the incident is under investigation.


Previous story:

At around 6:43 p.m. police officers responded to the reports of shots fired at the 200 block of Hedgewood Court.

At the scene officers located one victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to the police, the individual was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The victim’s name will be released at a later time by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

Detectives do not have a suspect at this time and are asking residents in the area to please check their home surveillance video and contact the Lexington Police Department if they have any footage that could help the investigation.
