LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — One person is dead after a train accident near the University of Kentucky campus over the weekend.

Lexington Police said authorities were dispatched to the intersection of Waller Avenue and Crescent Avenue at 1:42 p.m. on Saturday after receiving reports that an individual had been hit by a train.


They were pronounced dead at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner, but their identity has not been released at this time.

The circumstances surrounding the death are unknown at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
