LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Police in Lexington have made an arrest in connection to the homicide that occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday.

The Lexington Police Department stated that a 17-year-old male was arrested at the Devonport Drive scene and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Authorities said the 17-year-old and victim lived at the same residence and the homicide occurred after a domestic violence altercation between the victim and a third party.

The victim has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as 26-year-old Juan Mondono Fonseca.

Just a few hours after an officer-involved shooting, Lexington police reported to another shooting in Lexington, this one deadly.

The Lexington Police Department said they were dispatched to Devonport Drive around 1 a.m. Friday for reports of a man shot. He was transported to the hospital by first responders where he later died.

The victim’s name has not been released at this time. Police have not identified a suspect.
