LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased 19-year-old as Oscar Wilds, of Lexington.
A preliminary investigation by the Lexington Police Department indicated Wilds was shot and killed by a homeowner as he attempted to break into their house on Jouett Creek Drive early Monday morning.
The circumstances of this incident remain under investigation by the Lexington Police Department.

One man is dead after an overnight burglary, according to authorities.
The Lexington Police Department said units responded to a reported burglary around 1 a.m. Monday on Jouett Creek Drive. Upon arrival, authorities found a 19-year-old man deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said it appears the homeowner shot the 19-year-old as he was breaking into the home.
Ginn also stated the homeowner and his children were inside at the time of the break-in and were not harmed. He believes the burglar and homeowner did not know each other.
The identity of the deceased individual has not been released at this time.
