GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man is behind bars in Scott County after allegedly stealing a cash register from a local business.

The Georgetown Police Department said they were dispatched on Wednesday to a store on Showalter Drive for reports that an individual entered the store, grabbed the cash register, and fled the scene.

Officers said they located the suspect, identified as Javion Jackson, in the area shortly after being dispatched. Jackson then led authorities on a brief pursuit before being apprehended.

Jackson was charged with resisting arrest, unlawful taking, and evading police. He is lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.
