Warning: The pictures of the dog, Lillah, may be disturbing to some audiences.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Lexington-Fayette Animal Control arrested a man Thursday in Lexington who is accused of animal torture.

Lt. Jai Hamilton with Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control said they received a tip about animal abuse on Dec. 24, 2021, and took in Lillah.

The Lexington Humane Society created a Facebook post on Wednesday, Jan. 12, sharing Lillah was in their care.

“The pictures say all that needs to be said of the abuse Lillah has suffered,” the post reads.

Brandon Combs has been charged with the torture of a dog or cat with serial physical injury or death.

Combs has a bond set at $5,000.

Lexington Humane Society President Susan Malcomb said Lillah is now doing well even though her wounds are extreme. But her condition requires close observation and is always evolving.

“She greets us with a wagging tail, and food is her love language,” Malcomb said.

Malcomb said cases like Liliahs can have a large pull on the humane society’s finances and said monetary donations are the best way to support the continued care of abused and neglected animals.
