LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – An arrest has been made in a June shooting death in Lexington.

On June 19, Randy Wise was shot and killed in his vehicle on Charles Avenue.

The Lexington Police Department said in a news release, that an anonymous tip to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of 44-year-old DeMonte Cowan.

Cowan has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and first-degree wanton endangerment. He is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Detective Anthony Delimpo credits the call with an increase in the Crime Stoppers reward amount.

“The Robbery/Homicide unit had no leads on it and then to put this initiative out there. And to see this happen and someone come forward and get this money. The public has information on these homicides they are solvable,” he said.
