PARIS, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police (KSP) is investigating after a Paris police officer was involved in a shooting late Sunday.
A news release said the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. on North Middletown Road in Bourbon County.
A man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to KSP.
Authorities didn’t provide any additional information, as they said the incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge.
“KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies,” KSP said in a news release. “KSP is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation. To protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation, it is KSP’s standard operating procedure not to release specific details until vital witnesses have been interviewed and pertinent facts gathered. Timelines to complete investigations vary based on the complexity of the case.”
