LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Two dogs are currently recovering and need help to get back on their four feet.
Wonder and Gabby are currently on the road to recovery with Paws 4 the Cause after near-death injuries. When Wonder was found he weighed 24 lbs. when he should weigh 50. He also had pressure sores on his back hip bones due to laying on a hard surface and it was now very infected. The female beagle, now called Gabby, was thin with a very bad skin infection and in horrible shape.
Things are taking a turn for the better with both dogs. Gabby is now being fostered and is expected to be ready for adoption very soon. Wonder is still trying to gain his weight back, but progress has looked promising. He now weighs more than 30 lbs.
LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:
Anita Spreitzer with Paws 4 the Cause said everyone can help dogs like Wonder and Gabby by donating. In addition to these two, Anita said this has been happening a lot, and it does take a lot of resources to get these furry friends ready for new homes.
“Donations have been very down. So donating right now would help us a lot because we’ve had probably since January, at least five or six cases like this. And it’s cost us probably close to $10,000 to help them,” Spreitzer said.
You can donate by visiting this link, or by visiting Paws 4 the Cause at 201 Newtown Pike.
